Valparaiso Chile

Valparaíso is a city in Chile, situated northwest of Santiago, it's one of the country's most significant seaports and an increasingly important cultural hub in the Southeast Pacific. The city is the capital of the Valparaíso Province and the Valparaíso Region. Plaza Sotomayor is the main square in the heart of Valparaiso, where visitors will find a massive monument dedicated to the local heroes and the stunning building of The Armada de Chile. Surrounding Plaza Sotomayor there are all sorts of shops and also some of the funiculars that take you uphill for a superior view of the town. Pablo Neruda's House, La Sebastiana, is perched on a steep hill overlooking the city and harbour. The house and the gardens, with their breathtaking views, are magnificent, filled with memories, poems, books, a wooden horse and even a bar with a nautical atmosphere. Valparaiso boasts remarkable architecture with colourful houses clinging to the cliffs, encircled by trees and with historical buildings at the base. That's what Valparaiso is. It's a joy to get lost and explore the different hills, each one with its own personality and people. Valparaiso is a melting pot of people, poets, bohemians and lovers, which shines across the globe as the jewel of the Pacific.
